St. John Bosco, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is an elementary and middle school serving approximately 550 students, faculty, and staff. The campus consists of five, single-story buildings. Lincus was called upon not only to conduct a preliminary assessment of energy conservation opportunities, but also to create documentation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission sources.
In order to identify these energy-saving opportunities, Lincus gathered information by reviewing the building plans, past utility expenses, and conducting a thorough on-site visit. This allowed the engineers to develop an energy model of all buildings on campus..
By implementing these recommended measures, St. John Bosco would be able to save up to 150,125 kWh, and $14,308 per year in energy costs. Lincus’ recommendations would also prevent the release of 1.2 million pounds of CO2 per year from heating and cooling, lighting, waste management, and transportation sources.
